Big news coming out of Anfield today as it has emerged that Rafa's #2, Paco Ayesteran is leaving Merseyside. This will be a blow to the team as Paco has been an integral part of the coaching team for the past three years.Prior to coming to Liverpool he worked with Rafa at Tenerife and Valencia. It is unclear whether his move is for personal reasons or whether he has had another job offer.
No news either on possible replacements although I for one, would like to see Gary MacAllister return to Anfield.

Since he was the one that interacted with the players, could this cause disruptions to what has been a very good start to the season?
Maybe, I know he was very hands on in training, which allowed Rafa to free up time for other stuff.
I suspect Rafa will have someone in mind to step in to that role.
I'm not worried about it disrupting us though, as the squad is so focused.
It's great to have an experienced, old-school Liverpool head like Sammy Lee back at the club. It's no coincidence that Liverpool have looked a far more formidable outfit since Sammy has been brought back into the fold.
I think the strain of coping with Paco Ayesteran's shock pre-season exit in 2007 was a lot for Rafa last season & his no nonsense focused style is a great match with Lee's old school attitude.
